In the face of all of that has been going on in the world in 2020, as a Peak Nation, our teams have faced the challenges head-on with grit and determination, never losing sight of the big picture of what we set out to accomplish.
It is against that backdrop that I am thrilled to let you know that the word-on-the-street is true – we have expanded our services and brand into the conventional multi-housing space as PeakMade Communities!
Since Peak Campus was formed, we have been singularly focused on providing world-class property management services to our clients by bringing together the best people in the business, and then giving them the platform, culture and resources to thrive. As our CEO, Bob Clark, always says, “We’re in the people business. We just happen to lease apartments from time to time.” People have always been our secret sauce. On that solid foundation we have built an outstanding organization, with an impeccable reputation as a management company and as top workplace. That approach – that People Matter Most mentality – has never changed and never will.
Over the years, as the organization has grown and as our relationships with our partners have grown, we’ve been asked whether we would ever consider venturing into other non-student housing management and development services. We have always declined – focusing all of our energy on building out and constantly evolving what we believe to be a best-in-class platform for student housing. As those requests continued, we have continued to discuss internally. After much consideration, resource planning and after making investments in both systems and personnel, we decided last year to take on a few assignments, and begin the process of expanding our services into conventional multifamily management and development.
None of this changes our commitment to the student housing space. Peak Campus will continue to be our core business, with our conventional management platform serving as both a natural extension and complement to that business. With that being said, we’re going to continue to make investments in building out this business, looking to utilize the same relationship-oriented approach that helped us evolve the organization into what it is today.
With this new venture, we’ve also launched a new branding approach for the company. PeakMade Real Estate will serve as the parent company for Peak Campus, as well as for PeakMade Communities. It will be the new home of our corporate oversight, support functions and shared services group. That team will continue to provide the same high level of support to Peak Campus, as well as PeakMade Communities, and the new structure will afford us the ability to explore new opportunities in the future. As you will note in the new name, we believed it was critical for us to recognize the foundation that the Peak name and brand has afforded us. We may venture into new products and services, but we will always make sure they are founded on the same principles – that they are PeakMade.
As we continue our journey, we look forward to bringing the same level of passion, energy and focus on relationships that has served our student business so well. People have always mattered most here– all people, including our team members, vendors, clients, partners and communities – today and going forward. Because that People Matter Most mindset will continue to guide all of our decisions, we will always come out ahead in the long run.
